High Level Foreign Dignitaries are Going to Visit India

For late February, 2026, MEA announced two high profile incoming visits. These two highly discussed visits are,

1)     1) President of the French Republic, H.E. Emmanuel Macron, who will pay visit to India from 17th to 19th February, 2026, and

2)     2) President of Federative Republic of Brazil, H.E. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who will visit India from 18th to 22nd February, 2026.

 India-France relationship is based on mutual trust and shared commitment. They already elevated their relationship to Strategic Partnership.

During his visit, it is expected that, President Macron and Prime Minister Modi will hold discussions to strengthen bilateral cooperation across an extensive range of areas as enshrined in the Horizon 2047 Roadmap. Both the leaders are also expected to discuss various regional and global issues of mutual interests, including cooperation in the Indo-Pacific.

According to MEA statement, President Macron and Prime Minister Modi will be in Mumbai to inaugurate the India-France Year of Innovation. Together, India and France will celebrate 2026 as the Year of Innovation. On 19 February, President Macron will also participate in the AI Impact Summit, going to be held in New Delhi.

From 18th to 22nd February, 2026, President of Federative Republic of Brazil, H.E. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, will be in India in a State visit. President Lula will participate in the 2nd AI Impact Summit, from 19-20 February. This is going to be his sixth visit to India.

President Lula is expected to be accompanied by a number of prominent Ministers and a large delegation of top CEOs of Brazilian companies. The Brazilian Ministers would be having meetings with their Indian counterparts. Reflecting the growing trade and commercial engagements between the two countries, the CEOs are expected to participate in a Business Forum.

India and Brazil share a warm, close and multi-faceted Strategic Partnership. Their relationship is strongly rooted in close people-to-people ties, shared democratic values and expanding cooperation across key sectors.

In 2006, India and Brazil elevated their relationship to Strategic Partnership. Brazil is India’s largest trading partner in LAC region. Their bilateral engagement has continued to expand in different areas such as trade and investment, defence, health and pharmaceuticals, agriculture, energy, including renewables, critical minerals, rare earth materials. In the field of science & technology and innovation, including cooperation in the field of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and AI, India and Brazil are strengthening their relationship. Both the countries also share common views on various international issues, including UN reforms, climate change and combating terrorism.

During his visit, Hon’ble Rashtrapathiji Smt. Droupadi Murmu is expected to meet President Lula and would host a banquet in his honor. Hon’ble Vice President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan and Hon’ble Minister of External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar are also envisaged to call on President Lula.

Prime Minister Modi will meet President Lula on 21st February. Both leaders are going to review the entire gamut of bilateral relations. Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to host a lunch in honor of President Lula.

Both the leaders will also exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest, such as, reformed multilateralism, cooperation in different multilateral platforms, global governance and issues concerning the Global South.
