Visit of Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to India – A Report

To participate in the AI Impact Summit 2026, held in India, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is on an official visit to India. He also visited India in September 2024. The visit reaffirmed the tradition of regular leadership-level engagement between India and the UAE. His visit strengthen India-UAE relation mainly in the area of advanced technology.

Today, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed met on the sidelines of the AI Impact Summit. Both PM Modi and His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed reaffirmed the importance of the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which is underpinned by strong political, commercial, cultural, energy and people-to-people ties.

In the last few years, India-UAE strong ties reflected in various sectors, such as, defence and security, trade and investment, education and cultural cooperation etc. Four years ago India and UAE signed the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which helps to boost bilateral trade and investment. Moreover, both the leaders commended significant two-way investment flows. They also encouraged UAE Sovereign Wealth Funds to continue to invest in the Indian economy. PM Modi and His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed also discussed collaborative opportunities between India and the UAE in various strategic sectors such as space, nuclear energy, technology and innovation.

The MEA statement pointed different initiatives, which both the leaders appreciated as important for enhancing bilateral cooperation, they are,

Completion of the MoU between the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of India and the Ministry of Health and Prevention of the United Arab Emirates on Cooperation in the Field of Health and Medicine. The MoU will promote joint efforts of India and UAE in professional exchanges, research, digital health, institutional collaboration, pharmaceuticals and development of modern technologies in the health sector, which will be beneficial to the people of both the countries.

Completion of Term Sheet between Centre for Development of Advanced Computing and G42 and Mohamed Bin Zayed University of AI for deployment of supercomputer cluster in India, which was announced jointly by Prime Minister Modi and UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed, during the latter’s visit to India last month. The supercomputer cluster will be part of the AI India Mission, making it accessible to both public and private sectors for research, application development, and commercial use.

Completion of setting up of office of Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company in the GIFT City in Gujarat.
